At a small coffee shop, two friends, Sarah and Jake, sat at opposite ends of a table, glaring at each other. They had just had a massive argument over who would win in a fight: a bear or a shark. Sarah, convinced that bears had the upper hand, had stormed off, declaring, “If you won’t talk to me, then I won’t talk to you!” Jake, equally stubborn, replied, “Fine! I’ll just sit here in silence and enjoy my coffee!” Minutes passed, and the tension was palpable. The barista, sensing the awkwardness, tried to lighten the mood. “Can I get you two anything?” “Silence!” they both shouted in unison, causing a few heads to turn.
As they sipped their drinks, Sarah’s phone buzzed. It was a meme of a bear and a shark fighting, and she couldn’t help but chuckle. Jake noticed and raised an eyebrow. “Not talking, huh?” he teased. “Shut up!” she shot back, but a smile crept onto her face. Finally, they both burst into laughter, realizing how ridiculous they were being. “Okay, truce?” Jake said, extending his hand. “Only if you admit the bear would totally win!” Sarah replied, shaking his hand. And just like that, the silence was broken!
