In a small town lived a man named Charlie, who was famously indifferent. He wore the same gray shirt every day, ate plain toast for breakfast, and never bothered to remember anyone’s name. His friends often joked, “Charlie, you could win a gold medal in not caring!” One day, a vibrant new café opened up, and the townsfolk buzzed with excitement. They invited Charlie to join them for the grand opening. He shrugged, “Sure, why not?” When he arrived, the café was filled with colorful pastries and lively music. Everyone was raving about the rainbow cupcakes and the exotic coffee blends.
Charlie took a seat, ordered a black coffee, and stared blankly at the menu. “What’s the big deal?” he thought. As his friends squealed over their treats, Charlie took a sip of his coffee and sighed. “Tastes like coffee,” he muttered. Suddenly, a cupcake rolled off a table and landed right in front of him. Without a second thought, he picked it up, took a bite, and said, “Not bad.” His friends gasped. “Charlie, you actually cared about something!” He shrugged again, “I guess it’s just a cupcake.” And with that, he went back to his toast, blissfully unconcerned.
